Junipero Serra High School (San Mateo) alumni, Captain Dave Peruzzaro, presented Senior and San Mateo Police Department Police Explorer Sergeant Daniel Ordonez with a PAL Scholarship this evening at Serra’s Scholarship presentation event. Congrats Daniel! We know great things are ahead for you!

A beautiful day for wellness at Seal Point Park this morning. In collaboration with StarVista, we hosted our Mental Heath Matters 5K and Wellness Fair.

Amazing resource organizations tabled and provided services (too many to list), A Runner's Mind handled the run portion, Stride for ...Awareness (whose brainchild our very first race was) handled volunteers, and The City of San Mateo departments like City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation, San Mateo Police Department, and San Mateo Public Library were also on hand.

Kids, young and old, dogs, walkers, runners, and bicyclists all turned out to support this cause, get some fitness in, and breathe in the fresh air. All super important for mental & physical health.

We are grateful for the continued support of our community as we continue to aim to provide resources to our PAL youth and families. For more information on mental health, visit StarVista, NAMI, and San Mateo County Health to name a few.
