The San Mateo Police Activities League non-profit organization is excited to offer in-person classes, events, and programs to the youth of San Mateo County. We strive to keep our community and youth engaged through out PAL activities by offering various enrichment classes, life-skills building programs, and family events. Enrichment Classes

Enrichment classes are learning experiences that go above and beyond what is possible in the traditional school classroom. With small student-to-instructor ratios, they create an environment in which students are free to explore individual interests, take full advantage of personal qualities, socialize with likeminded peers, and utilize their instructor as a mentor and role model.

In this beginner's class, learn traditional strumming techniques, singing and playing traditional Hawaiian songs as well as finger picking techniques, chords and chord progressions.  Instruments provided!

This class offers an introduction to basic breathing, yoga postures, mindfulness techniques and relaxation to support the development of strength and flexibility in their mind and body. Students will learn the value of stillness and movement by engaging in playful activities to promote self-awareness and improved social interactions with others.

Cooking can help young children learn and practice basic math, science, and language skills. The experience of creating a meal will build self-confidence and lay a foundation for healthy eating habits.

Family Craft Nights

Join in on the fun during our Family Craft Nights. Experience quality family time while creating cute seasonal crafts with a yummy snack.

Dance Classes

Dance helps children develop emotionally, socially and cognitively, and the dedication, discipline and focus children must learn and practice are important life skills that will transfer over to school, work and other aspects of their lives.

Hip Hop

Musical Theater

This class is designed for all to enjoy a positive theater experience. Whether your little ones are experienced or not, the instructor will help make the most of their unique talents and skills.

Sports Classes

Sports are a great way for children to learn essential life skills that will serve them in later life, such as teamwork and cooperation. Sports help children develop physical skills, get exercise, learn teamwork, play fair and improve self-esteem. Moreover, they can teach kids important life lessons on how to persevere, how to win with humility and lose with grace.
