PAL's Lights & Sirens Annual Awards and Recognition Dinner

unnamed (14)

In just a few short weeks, we will be hosting our annual Lights & Sirens dinner. It will feature a live and silent auction, plated dinner, "hosted" cocktail reception, and youth performances from our PAL kids with awards and recognitions honoring our Community Partnerships.

At PAL we strive to provide meaningful opportunities for local underprivileged and at-risk youth to thrive, and our gala dinner is our premier event to raise the crucial funds to ensure our success. Proceeds from this event will go towards supporting PAL programs and ensuring that our youth have the tools they need to become successful members of the community.

This year our dinner will take place on Friday, April 28, 2023 at the San Mateo County Event Center - Cypress Hall. If you would like to attend or get involved, there are multiple ways to participate. You can volunteer at our event, or donate goods or services to our auctions. Tickets, tables, and sponsorships are also available NOW! You can purchase these items using the link below. Additionally, on April 24th, we will have our online auction through May 3rd. This will be a night of fun and we hope to see you there!

News and Updates

Mental Health Matters - 5K and Community Wellness Fair

unnamed (16)

Giving Tuesday was a global campaign that took place on November 29th and is where people around the world come together on the same day to support a cause close to their hearts. This year, our goal was to reach $15,000 to help our local PAL youth and families struggling during the holidays, and we came in at just around $10,100. Even though we did not reach our goal on Giving Tuesday, we are hopeful we can meet this goal between now and the end of the year!!

Every day we offer incredibly low-cost to completely free activities for kids and their parents, helping to improve their mental health, wellness, education, and future outcomes. We support families when they need it most! In addition, we offer many fun experiences for families during the holidays, such as a Santa Brunch, presents, family nights, and gifts delivered by Santa Cop.

Your support is critical, and every dollar helps! All donations will directly serve the local community during the holidays and beyond! Thank you for being part of the San Mateo PAL team. Together, we can make a difference.

If you would like to contribute, please visit our donation page link: http://weblink.donorperfect.com/PALDonation2022

Meet Our Staff

Officers Alison Adle and Carlos Basurto

unnamed (68)

In every newsletter, we will be spotlighting a PAL staff member or volunteer. Without them, our PAL programs would not be as successful as they are.

This month we are spotlighting:

Officer Allison Adle and Officer Carlos Basurto, Youth Services Officers (YSO)

Our Youth Services Officers (YSO) Adle and Basurto are integral to PAL because they are the responding officers to our youth when circumstances arise that require an officer within a school setting. Our YSOs interact with our youth frequently and often become mentors to them. YSOs help to "Build The Bond Between Cops and Kids," which is the basis of our mission statement. The work that they do is rooted in protecting and serving our youth, and we cannot thank them enough for their dedication and support for the community!
