Craig Cytron is a results-driven financial executive with over 25 years of experience across technology and service industries. He’s successfully led two IPOs and is known for his ability to build strong relationships, drive strategy, and foster collaboration. He holds a BS in Accounting from California State University, Chico, and a Master’s in Finance from Golden Gate University.
Craig has served on the San Mateo PAL Board for nearly six years. He currently holds the role of Chair Elect and leads the Fund Development Committee. His previous leadership includes serving as Treasurer and Golf Committee Chair. His dedication to PAL is rooted in his belief that all youth deserve safe, supportive environments that prepare them for successful futures.
Having grown up in Oakland and lost his mother at age ten, Craig understands the importance of community and mentorship. Coaching his sons’ sports teams deepened his passion for supporting kids,especially those facing challenges like abuse or bullying, and showed him how sports can be a powerful outlet and source of healing.
Outside of PAL, Craig is an avid golfer, runner, cyclist, and bowler. He’s competed in triathlons and treasures time with his family, especially his granddaughter. His favorite PAL event is Brunch with Santa, where he enjoys seeing the joy on children’s faces and families coming together. For Craig, serving on the PAL Board is an honor and a meaningful way to give back to the community he cares so deeply about.

Kathleen Wells
Secretary
Kathleen Wells is a Partner at Latham & Watkins LLP, where she represents public and private companies, venture capital firms, and investment banks in a variety of corporate legal matters. She earned her B.A. from the University of Arizona and J.D. from Stanford University. Kathleen serves as Secretary on the PAL Board and is a member of the Governance Committee.
She joined PAL because of its mission to empower youth and build strong connections between local police and the community. Kathleen enjoys spending time with her family—including her husband, two children, and two dogs—cooking, hiking, and taking barre classes. Her favorite PAL events include the annual Santa Brunch and the furry friends celebration at Central Park.
Robert Anderson
Downtown San Mateo Association, Retired San Mateo PD
Robert Anderson was born and raised in San Francisco and developed a passion for public service early in life. While attending San Jose State University, he became a San Mateo Police Explorer at age 19. After graduating from SJSU, he was hired as a San Mateo Police Officer, beginning a distinguished 32-year career in law enforcement. During his time with the San Mateo Police Department, he coordinated the SMPD’s Explorer Post, mentoring dozens of young cadets. They also served as a Field Training Officer and played a key role in launching the department’s Homeless Outreach Team program.
Following retirement, he continued serving the community by joining the board of the Downtown San Mateo Association and acting as board chair for the San Mateo County Healthcare for the Homeless & Farmworkers program. His longstanding connection to the police Explorer program, first as a participant and later as a coordinator, inspired him to join the San Mateo PAL Board. In his spare time, Robert enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and biking.
Ed Barberini
Chief of Police, San Mateo
Chief Ed Barberini has served as Chief of the San Mateo Police Department since 2020 and brings over 27 years of law enforcement experience. His career includes prior leadership roles as Police Chief in San Bruno and Millbrae, as well as various roles with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. Ed earned a B.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University, an MPA from Cal State East Bay, and an M.A. in Homeland Security Studies from the Naval Postgraduate School.
He has completed leadership training through POST Command College, Harvard, and Stanford. A lifelong resident of San Mateo County, Ed lives in Belmont with his wife Jackie. He serves on numerous boards and associations and is passionate about education-focused youth programs. His favorite PAL initiative is Empowerment Through Action, which expands access to higher education and creates life-changing opportunities for young people.

Bill Esposto
Esposto's Catering
Bill Esposto is a lifelong San Mateo resident and the President of his family’s businesses—Pacific Coast Baking, Esposto’s Inc., and Esposto’s Fine Foods, established locally in 1956 and still thriving today under the third and fourth generations. He holds a degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management from City College of San Francisco and has been deeply committed to community service throughout his career.
As Board President, Bill has played a hands-on role in PAL’s Golf Tournament, Lights & Sirens Dinner, and annual Brunch with Santa, often providing food through his businesses and supporting mentoring programs for youth.
Raised in a large San Mateo family, and now with kids and grandkids of his own, Bill’s motivation to serve stems from a deep appreciation for giving back. He and his wife have spent decades coaching and mentoring youth, and he believes every child deserves a chance to succeed, regardless of their background.
His favorite PAL event is the Golf Tournament, where community members come together, have fun, and learn about PAL’s mission, all while raising funds for local youth programs.
Pam Frisella
Former Mayor, Foster City
Pam Frisella has been deeply involved in community service for decades, starting with her sons’ Little League teams and continuing through school committees at St. Matthew’s and Serra High. While raising her family, she worked 15 years at Wells Fargo Bank before joining Samaritan House, where she created and led a volunteer coordinator role.
Pam served eight years on the Foster City Council, where she remained focused on supporting local families and underserved populations. During that time, she also served on the boards of HEART (Housing Endowment and Regional Trust) and First 5 California, contributing to affordable housing and early childhood development efforts.
A dedicated PAL board member for nearly 20 years, Pam has helped fundraise, served on multiple committees, and currently chairs the nominating committee. She’s also involved with Foster City Rotary, the LEMO Foundation, and is President of Foster City Village, a nonprofit serving seniors.
Pam’s passion for service began in 1985 at Samaritan House and continues to this day. In retirement, she enjoys golf, gardening, long walks, and watching her four grandsons play sports.

Tammy Del Bene

Tammy Del Bene brings a strong background in public service and community engagement to the San Mateo PAL Board. After earning her Certificate in Travel & Hospitality, she spent a decade as a travel agent before joining San Bruno’s Beautification Task Force, where she co-chaired the city’s first Operation Clean Sweep and stayed involved for 10 years.
Her passion for service led to a 23-year career with Recology, where she advanced to Senior Administrative Manager for Recology San Mateo County. There, she worked closely with local government, led community initiatives like Coats for Kids, and mentored new team members.
Tammy joined the PAL Board to support youth and families in need. Inspired by her father’s service with the SFPD and SFFD, she’s proud to carry on a tradition of giving back. She previously chaired the Development Committee, has supported the Lights & Sirens Dinner and Golf Tournament, and now serves on the Marketing & Development Committee.
In retirement, she enjoys travel, time with loved ones, and hosting “Camp Nonna” for her three grandchildren. A highlight of her year is playing Mrs. Claus at Brunch with Santa, but she’s especially passionate about PAL’s Diversion Program for its lasting impact on local teens.

Director San Mateo Parks and Recreation
Joanne Magrini joined the City of San Mateo as Director of Parks and Recreation in July 2022 and serves as an ex-officio member of the PAL Board. She brings more than 30 years of experience in recreation leadership, including roles at the University of San Francisco and the cities of Cupertino and San Bruno.
A San Mateo native, Joanne is passionate about building programs that engage families and strengthen the community. She holds a master’s degree in Sports and Fitness Management from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in Communications with a minor in Sports Management from UC Santa Barbara. Joanne lives in Redwood City with her husband, Alan. Her favorite PAL event is the Explorers EXCON Challenge, where youth demonstrate their law enforcement training in real-life scenarios.

William (Will) Hurley is the Regional Vice President of Sales at Glean, bringing over 16 years of experience in technology sales to his role. A graduate of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Will has held leadership positions at top tech companies including Oracle, AppDynamics, and Snowflake, where he’s built a reputation for driving growth and building strong, mission-driven teams. As a member of the PAL Board, William is passionate about identifying new ways to support and strengthen connections within the San Mateo community.
His commitment to youth development stems from a belief that all children deserve access to high-quality recreational and enrichment programs that can help shape their future—personally and professionally. Outside of work, William enjoys playing golf, spending time with his two daughters, and attending San Mateo’s Music in the Park events.

He joined PAL with a belief that every child—regardless of background—deserves the chance to thrive in a safe, supportive environment. Outside of work, Garrett enjoys spending time outdoors and traveling with his wife and children. His favorite PAL event is Backpack PALooza, where he finds great joy in seeing kids light up with excitement as they receive backpacks and supplies—ready and confident to start the school year.

Mike Peterson spent 45 years teaching in Catholic high schools across the country, including in New York City, Montebello (CA), Oak Lawn (IL), San Francisco, and San Mateo. He holds a B.A. in Classical Languages from Iona College, an M.A. in Religious Education from Seattle University, and an M.A. in Educational Administration from San Francisco State University. He retired from Serra High School in 2009.
Mike has been a dedicated member of the PAL Board, serving on several committees including Golf, Lights & Sirens, Scholarship, and Development. He joined PAL to continue working with youth, a lifelong passion. Outside of PAL, Mike enjoys watching sports—especially his grandchildren’s games—fishing, camping, reading, volunteering with the Rotary Club of San Mateo, ushering at Stanford athletic events, and serving on the boards of St. John’s Cemetery and the LEMO Foundation. His favorite PAL events include Junior Giants, Christmas with Santa at the King Center, and the annual Fun Run/Walk.

Dana Stoehr is the Chief Executive Officer of the San Mateo County Event Center, one of the Bay Area’s premier venues for exhibitions, trade shows, and community events. With over 30 years of experience in venue and event management, Dana is recognized as a visionary leader in the events industry.
A dedicated member of the San Mateo PAL Board, Dana serves on the Governance Committee and plays an active role in the annual Lights & Sirens fundraising event. Her involvement is driven by a lifelong passion for helping youth thrive and ensuring all kids have access to safe, enriching opportunities.
Dana has lived in San Mateo since 2001 with her husband, and values time spent with their daughters and grandchildren most of all. She enjoys golf, promoting literacy, and making memories with her family. In addition to her community work, Dana continues to serve her industry through leadership roles on various boards.

Russ Stanley
San Francisco Giants
Russ Stanley is in his 36th season with the San Francisco Giants, where he serves as Senior Vice President, Head of Ticketing. A trailblazer in the sports industry, Russ has led groundbreaking innovations including the first team-sponsored online secondary market (Double Play Ticket Window), early adoption of dynamic pricing, and one of the first client retention teams in professional sports. His leadership contributed to the Giants’ historic 530-game sell-out streak and continues to shape the fan experience at Oracle Park and Scottsdale Stadium.
A graduate of San Francisco State University, Russ spent eight years at Marine World Africa USA before joining the Giants in 1989. He has received multiple industry honors, including the INTIX Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2024 induction into the Pacifica Sports Hall of Fame.
Russ proudly serves on the boards of the American Heart Association, San Francisco State University, and San Mateo PAL. As a PAL board member, he’s passionate about keeping kids active, especially through sports like baseball, and fundraising to ensure all kids have access to these opportunities. He believes every child should get a chance to try different sports and discover what brings them joy.
His favorite PAL event is Santa Cop, where the joy on a child’s face when meeting Santa with an armful of gifts is truly unforgettable. “Unless you’re a Grinch,” he says, “you’re going to shed a tear.”
