San Mateo PAL Pulse July 2026

Last Thursday night, we had a boot-scootin' good time celebrating the incredible people who make PAL possible! We were thrilled to treat our generous donors to a special reception at the Japanese Tea Garden in Central Park, followed by a VIP Music in the Park experience featuring country cover band, Electric Rodeo. The evening also gave us the honor of recognizing our 2026 PAL Police Officer Volunteers of the Year - Officer Yianni Alevizos, Officer Nick Franquez, Officer Raaz Hussein, Officer James Nguyen, and Sergeant Mikhail Venikov for their dedication to our Jiu-Jitsu program and the youth we serve. We acelebrated our 2026 Volunteer of the Year, Wesley Cheng, who also helped make our Jiu-Jitsu program such a tremendous success. A special congratulations goes to longtime PAL employee Gladys Privado Pinzon, recipient of the 2026 April Adams Award, recognizing her unwavering commitment to the San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department and the programs that enrich the lives of PAL youth. From the bottom of our hearts, thank y'all for believing in our mission and helping our kids thrive. We simply couldn't do it without you.
